Kuraray

Kuraray Company Ltd. was established in 1926 in Kurashiki, Japan, for the industrial manufacture of chemical fibres. Since then, the company has capitalised fully on its technological strengths in the fields of polymerisation and synthetics. Today, the Kuraray Group consists of about 70 companies, employing about 7,000 people worldwide. One of Kuraray's core businesses is EVAL™ Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH), for which production began in Japan in 1972 at the world's first EVOH production plant, with a current capacity of 10,000 tons per year.
